Running the Azure Virtual Machine Preparation Setup
To run the Azure virtual machine preparation setup on Azure virtual machine, perform the following steps.
- 
Create an Azure virtual machine. For more information, see Create an Azure Virtual Machine. 
- 
Create a DNS for the Azure virtual machine. For more information, see Generate DNS Name. 
- 
Run the Virtual Machine Preparation setup on a virtual machine. For more information, see Running the Virtual Machine Preparation Setup. After you have run the Virtual Machine Preparation setup, restart the virtual machine.

Add Azure virtual machine details as a trusted host for the same Azure Virtual machine (Guest Agent VM) by running the following commands in PowerShell in Administration mode. winrm quickconfig
 winrm set winrm/config/client '@{TrustedHosts = "
 <NameoftheAzureGuestAgentVM(or)DNSName(or)ip>"}'

Shut down the Azure virtual machine.

Add 445 has a NSG Inbound port rule. For more information, see Add Inbound Port Rule. 
- 
Take a back up of the virtual machine. For more information, see Backup Azure VMs with the Azure Backup service. 
- 
While adding the Azure virtual machine details in Specify Virtual Machine details panel, select the recovery point in the Recovery Point drop down.
